If you recall, Dame Dash went on demolition spree in hopes of burning down industry heavyweights Joie Manda, Steve Stoute, and Lyor Cohen. Dame suggested that Manda and Cohen weren't really hip hop savants and in reality, were trying to destroy the essence of the culture with their piranha like business mentality . Well, one artist who worked under Cohen was Ja Rule. During his interview with The Breakfast Club, Ja Rule stopped by to promote his book "Unruly" and spoke on why he doesn't believe that Lyor Cohen is a culture vulture.

"You know, I love Lyor. I love Dame too. What they're going through is internal. It's real personal. But, when I look at what Lyor did for us, he made us all competitive in a good way," said Ja Rule.

Ja Rule was referencing his answer to the question of whether it was indeed true that Lyor was trying to pin Ja Rule, Jay Z, and DMX against one another during their time at Def Jam.

"You know, if I knew X [DMX] was in the studio working on a new album. I wanted to get in the studio and work on a new album. If I knew Jay was in there working, I wanted to get in one or vice versa. And Lyor would make sure we knew. You know, X is working on that new album. You know, Jay is working is about to come with that thing. So, it kept us all competitive. But I think in a good way."
