Ice Cube Defends His New Song “Drop Girl”

After going number one in the box office for 22 Jump Street, Ice Cube has been on Cloud 9. The rapper/actor is now preparing to release his new project Everythang’s Corrupt in October, with his first single being “Drop Girl”. The rapper deviated from his gangsta persona and decided to have a bit more fun on his new record, which, unfortunately for him, didn’t sit well with his hardcore fans.

The party record which features 2 Chainz and Redfoo irked many of his fans, leaving some to question the sound of his new album. Cube took it to Instagram to ensure his fans that they will inevitably love the song and will thank him later.

“To my hardcore fans, it’s only one song,” Ice Cube said on Instagram “When you see your girl dance to this shit, you’ll love me again.”

Check out the video message left by Cube for his “hardcore fans.”
