Seems like Disney Channel star Zendaya wasn’t the only one who went out for the role of the late R&B singer Aaliyah in Lifetime’s new biopic. According to MTV News, so did G.O.O.D. Music artist Teyana Taylor. A friend of Taylor who goes by the name of TyronBee posted a series of Instagram videos of her audition along with a caption.

“I know teyana is gona be mad at me for posting her audition clip but i honestly feel no one deserves this role more then her.”

The choreographer went on to say, “She embraces Aaliyah dancing, acting and singing. (Which I’ll be posting all 3parts) but unfortunately @teyanataylor heard Aaliyah’s family isn’t involved & she no longer wanted to be a part of the film. Here’s part 1 the dancing.”

The late great singer’s family recently reported that they were against the idea of the made-for-TV movie about her life. Her uncle and former manager were upset that Lifetime was doing a film without the family’s consent.

Aaliyah: Princess of R&B will be released in the fall. It will be based on Christopher John Farley’s best seller, Aaliyah: More Than A Woman.
