Pharrell Brings Out T.I. And Busta Rhymes At The Apollo

Last night (June 3) Pharrell took over Harlem's Apollo Theater accompanied by T.I. and Busta Rhymes. Standing by his notion of embracing all types of people, the "Happy" crooner managed to represent just about every ethnicity on stage, all the while effortlessly unleashing his massive catalog of hits.

At around 9:00 PM, Skateboard P opened up the show with a gang of dancers in tow performing his Daft Punk collaboration, "Lose Yourself To Dance." As the crowd almost immediately hopped on their feet, losing themselves to the vibe of the tune, P continued on with his long list of fan favorites. Once again, he rocked his infamous hat, and performed well-known songs like "Frontin'" and "Marilyn Monroe." He also treated the audience to Snoop Dogg classics "Beautiful" and "Drop It Like It's Hot."

About halfway through the performance, Busta Rhymes even joined him for a rendition of "Pass The Courvoisier." Then, he went on to serve up The Neptunes' 2004 megahit "Hollaback Girl" unfortunately without Gwen Stefani. Fast forwarding to current tune, he played "Lost Queen" and his Alicia Keys-assisted cut "Know Who You Are."

With the show coming to a close and the diverse dancers playing the perfect counterpart, Pharrell had one more trick up his sleeve. Amidst performing Robin Thicke's "Blurred Lines," a groovy T.I. emerged from the right side of stage, treating the audience to his verse on the chart topper. Following "Get Lucky," in the appropriate fashion Pharrell, he closed the show with "Happy." Despite the terrible weather, it was a night that you couldn't forget.—Miranda Johnson
