The phenomenon that is the "Migos flow" has swept hip-hop as everyone from Drake to J.Cole has used some variation of the style. When 2 Chainz said that Migos got their flow from Three Six Mafia in an interview and on the Freebase EP song "Trap Back", the upstart MCs took offense and went after Chainz via Twitter. During an interview with MTV News this week, Migos was asked about 2 Chainz comments but were relatively mum on the subject and answered sarcastically. "“Actually I just seen on Instagram that they looking for ['the Migos flow'] in the bottom of Africa,” joked Quavo. “So [2 Chainz] can’t determine the origin. I seen researchers looking for it in Africa right now.”

Migos did however say that they felt disrespected by 2 Chainz when he made his claims, "He just mentioned Migos’ name, and as a supposed OG in the game, we feel like you’re supposed to be giving us knowledge and respect us, instead of doing that,” they said. “That ain’t how we rock, we just don’t rock like that."

Regardless of who started the flow, Migos is showing no signs of slowing down as they premiered the Young Thug assisted "1017" on XXL last night.
