Although many perceived Kanye's comments at the Cannes Film Festival about Annie Leibovitz skipping out on his weeding as harsh, the two have now come forth claiming that it was all just a misunderstanding. Revealing that Annie was actually never contracted for the nuptials, both camps reveal that Kanye was not assigning blame with his speech, he was simply frustrated that he was not able to collaborate with Leibovitz again.

“Annie would have been happy to do the portrait but she was never confirmed," said a representative for Leibovitz in press release.  The document also went on to explain that Leibovitz is not known to shoot weddings but Kanye being the dreamer that he is, wanted only Annie's famed style to capture the essence of the wedding.

In reference to Kanye's comments about the reputed photographer, Ye's camp says he was just speaking about how his wedding would have been a great opportunity for Leibovitz and him to have blended culture and technology. "Picture this,” said Kanye at the film festival. “The most-liked Instagram photo of all time, shot by Annie Leibowitz. Oh, I’m sorry for dreaming out loud. Again.”

However, what really caught many off guard was Kanye saying that Annie was scared of celebrity. “Let me tell you something about that kiss photo that my girl put up … this was pissing my girl off during the honeymoon, she was exhausted because we worked on the photo so much because Annie Leibovitz pulled out right before the wedding. I think that she was, like, scared of the idea of celebrity.”

The latter has yet to be addressed.
