Ice Cube Will Be Played By His Son In N.W.A. Biopic
The upcoming N.W.A. biopic Straight Outta Compton will be keeping it all in the family as Ice Cube's son, O'Shea Jackson Jr., will reportedly be portraying his father. The film is being produced by Cube, Dr. Dre and Eazy-E's widow, Tomica Woods-Wright and is being directed by F. Gary Gray, who has the flicks Set It Off and The Italian Job on his resume. Many other actors auditioned for the part of Cube but the elder Jackson convinced Universal that his son was ready to take on the role. Eazy-E's son has also reportedly been lobbying for a role in the movie but it does not appear that he will be a part of the film.
There is no scheduled release date for the movie and Cube is currently on a promo run for 22 Jump Street and recently released a new song with MC Ren entitled, "Rebel Music (Remix)."
