Beastie Boys Won’t Make Anymore Music
“Boddhisattva Vow”
Lyric: “So I pledge here before everyone who's listening/To make my every action for the good of all beings/For the rest of my lifetimes and even beyond/I vow to do my best, to do no harm”
Why It’s Dope: This song, set over Buddhist chants, could be considered preachy and lame, if it wasn't for the fact that MCA backed up every single thing he said on the track. It's a tricky line to walk, but it can work if done correctly, and Yauch was on top of his game.
All good things must come to an end. For fans expecting some new music from the legendary Beastie Boys, don't hold your breath. According to Mike D of the Beastie Boys, the group will no longer make anymore music. Mike D's reasoning comes from a promise made by the late MCA, Adam Yauch.
"We have not been able to tour since MCA, Adam Yauch, died," Diamond said. "We can't make new music," he told the New York Daily News.
Currently the group is going against Monster Energy Drinks on trial for $2 million dollars. From the music end, their album Ill Communication recently celebrated its 20th birthday last month.
