Seems like going independent has paid of for 50 Cent. His album Animal Ambition debuted at No. 1 on Billboard’s Top R&B/Hip-Hop Albums chart after landing at No. 4 in this week's album sales with 47,000 copies sold.

Not to bad for his first album in five years. This is the rapper’s fifth No. 1 album on the chart and the first since his last album Before I Self Destruct.

His single “Smoke,” produced by Dr. Dre, featuring Trey Songz currently holds  No. 39 on Rap Digital Songs chart.
