Pharrell seems to know how to keep his cool in an interview. But not even dealing with Howard Stern could prepare the “Happy” singer for his interview with British reporter Krishnan Guru-Murthy for Channel 4.

In probing and awkward conversation Guru-Murthy asks a series of interesting questions about the song Pharrell produced “Blurred Lines” wanting to get to the bottom of its lyrics.

To Pharrell, the refrain of "I know you want it" on "Blurred Lines" isn't too forward:

“Is it sexually suggestive when a car salesman says to a person who’s trying to buy a car, ‘I know you want?’”

When Guru-Murthy says it’s not the same context, he responds:

“O.K. cool. But does that make it off-limits for me to use in a song, especially when the overarching context is that there are good women who also have bad thoughts? If a good woman can have sexual thoughts, is it wrong for a man to have a correct guess that a woman might want something?

Guru-Murthy then asks him if T.I.’s “I’ll give you something big enough to tear your ass in two” line on “Blurred Lines” makes him uncomfortable:

“Why should I be uncomfortable? I love women. I love them inside and out. That song was meant for a woman to hear and say, ‘You know, I’m a good woman. And sometimes I do have bad thoughts.’”

The shoe and clothing designer would later go on to address his view on feminism, Hillary Clinton and the recent incident with the youth in Iran who were arrested for dancing to “Happy.”
