The Knowles-Carters have finally released a statement in response to the infamous elevator brawl that occurred between Jay Z and Solange after the Met Gala May 5. Informing the public via The Associated Press that the bunch has moved on from the incident as a “united family,” one has to wonder if the truth behind the attack will ever see the light of day.

An exclusive statement to The Associated Press read, “As a result of the public release of the elevator security footage from Monday, May 5th, there has been a great deal of speculation about what triggered the unfortunate incident. But the most important thing is that our family has worked through it. Jay and Solange each assume their share of responsibility for what has occurred. They both acknowledge their role in this private matter that has played out in the public. They both have apologized to each other and we have moved forward as a united family.”

There has been much speculation behind the cause of the fight, with reports of Rihanna and even Dame Dash’s ex-wife, Rachel Roy, as the initiators that caused Solange to fly off the handle. With an explanation yet to be presented, it’s looking shaky on if there will ever be one.
