America's unemployment ratio continues to grow as the Standard Hotel in New York City has fired the person they believe responsible for leaking footage of  Jay Z getting attacked by his sister-in-law Solange on the night of the Met Gala.

Brian Phillips, a spokesman for the hotel had this to say. "The Standard has identified the individual responsible for breaching the security policies of the hotel and recording the confidential CCTV video released by TMZ. The Standard has already terminated the individual and will now be pursuing all available civil and criminal remedies."

The statement from the Standard comes after reports that the footage, posted by TMZ on Monday (May 12), sold for $250,000.

The breach in privacy definitely did not make the Standard Hotel a bunch of happy campers.

“We are shocked and disappointed that there was a clear breach of our security system and the confidentiality that we count on providing our guests,”said Standard Hotel in a statement earlier this week. “We are investigating with the utmost urgency the circumstances surrounding the situation and, as is our customary practice, will discipline and prosecute the individuals involved to our fullest capacity.”

The firing is just the latest chapter in the saga as Jay Z and Beyonce get set to kick off their "On the Run Tour" on June 25.
