Bump J was in line to be one of the next artists from Chicago to break into the mainstream before he was sentenced to a ten year prison sentence for a bank robbery he allegedly committed in 2007. Though he's been locked up since '09, Bump's name still rings out heavy in the streets and he has been name dropped in numerous songs from big time Chicago MCs, most notably by Kanye West on the "I Don't Like (Remix)."

While locked up in the feds, Bump recently hopped on the phone quickly with Mikey Fresh from Miss Info and said that he is, "Supporting all the movements from Chicago." Unfortunately, due to not having enough phone time Bump J couldn't give his full thoughts on the Chicago hip-hop scene but promises a full interview when he gets more minutes on his phone.

Bump J also  revealed how Kanye West helped pay for his lawyer fees.

“Kanye helped pay for my lawyer, and he’s a great friend,"Bump says. "I got nothing but for respect for ‘Ye. He’ll have first choice when I come home."
