50 Cent's memory bank is pretty solid. He's rarely forgetful in regards to comments handed out by his competitors or foes. Well, Steve Stoute falls into that category, when he questioned 50's relevance during his interview with Hot97 back in February. Since then, 50 has delivered a slew of tracks, mainly his single "Smoke" featuring Trey Songz. With the success of his new single, he sarcastically thanked Stoute during his interview with Fuse for his comments sparking the song.

“[Stoute] was on the air and he said, ‘Well, now that he’s not with an actual record company, maybe he can get the record played’,” stated 50. “Now it’s playing Steve. See how your mouth makes things happen.”

During his appearance with Angie Martinez, Stoute had said that 50 wasn't an influential artist.

“[Stoute] was on the air and he said, ‘Well, now that he’s not with an actual record company, maybe he can get the record played’,” stated 50. “Now it’s playing Steve. See how your mouth makes things happen.”

That resulted in 50 Cent confronting Stoute at a Knicks game weeks later. The two have spoken since.

50 Cent's Animal Ambition is slated for a June 3rd release.
