Puff Daddy has never been one to shy away from pushing the boundaries of music.  During his time at the IMS Engage, he revealed a tidbit of information pertaining to his EDM collaboration with Guy Gerber, entitled 11:11, according to Billboard.

“The underground is what keeps music alive,” Puff said during his interview.

Puff mentioned that his intentions for 11:11 goes beyond making money, and is more so about making a cohesive sounding project for people to enjoy.

“We’re not trying to please the masses. Some people will love it and some will hate it. If people like it, you might have a chance to make more money if you don’t ask them to pay for it,”said Puff.

The origin of the project stems from an initial encounter in New York, where the rap mogul and the Israeli DJ/producer exchanged ideas, starting with Puff citing Gerber’s first album as his source of inspiration.

“He played me a track from my first album for inspiration,” Gerber said. “And I gave him a big hug.”

“I am always looking for DJ/producers without a set format, who aren’t afraid to clear the dance floor, who are fearless. I thought it would be cool to work with Guy.”

The duo’s collaborative effort, 11:11, doesn’t have a concrete date, but, the two have hinted to possibly releasing the project in July.—Carl Lamarre
