As many may know YG, DJ Mustard and Ty Dolla $ign were laying down tracks in the studio well before they got famous. Fast forward to today, and the guys are still crafting up hits left and right, so they seemed destined to start a label, right? Well, XXL spoke with YG and DJ Mustard about their new label, Pushaz, and how everything came about.

According to YG, Pushaz was merely something the guys used as a promotional tool at first but has grown into much more. "It’s something that was created to promote our music," said YG. "'Cause we was in the streets with all the homies doing all the functions, and we didn’t have no name for ourself at the time. So that’s when the Pushaz thing was made up. Everybody been pushin’ since before everybody was signed to shit and we ain’t have shit. It’s was really some promotional shit, but then everybody started getting into these situations. I got signed, Ty, Mustard so we turned it into Pushaz Ink., the label. And now, we turning it into a real situation."

Mustard later clarified the label's standing and the artists that they have already inked to the imprint. "It’s a collaboration label with me, YG and Ty Dolla $ign; we own the label," said DJ Mustard to XXL. "We got artists like RJ, Reem Riches, TC, Slim and a lot of artists we been working with. It’s just stuff we been doing though. We just making it a real situation."
