The impact of Hip Hop culture hasn't gone unnoticed among elites in the entertainment industry, especially in the fashion world, which is why Vogue editor-in-chief Anna Wintour summoned Odd Future's Frank Ocean to perform at this year's distinguished Met Gala.

According to NY Post sources, the alternative artist has been chosen to croon the crowd during the ceremony.

Thanks to Wintour, Kanye West performed at last year's Met Gala in New York City just one month before releasing his Yeezus. The Chicago rapper was in attendance with his very pregnant girlfriend Kim Kardashian as he treated the crowd to new unreleased material.

Ocean also made his way to the Gala last year and was even rumored to have spent the night with Givenchy creative director Riccardo Tisci. The two frequented each other's Instagram posts several times that night.

Will Ocean follow West's footsteps by debuting rare new music at the gala this year? Ocean announced last year via his Instagram he was working on his sophomore album, with 10 songs already completed, so one can only hope.
