Due to the recent conviction of Chris Brown’s bodyguard, Christopher Hollosy, for the assault of a D.C. man outside the W Hotel, the singer’s trial has been delayed until Wednesday.

Details of Hollosy’s testimony are still under investigation, which led attorneys to postpone the trial date, originally set for Monday (today).

Attorneys in Brown’s camp are insisting the bodyguard testify at Brown trial, clearly stating that he punched Parker Adams outside of the W Hotel last fall and not Chris Brown. Bernard Grimm, Hollosy’s lawyer, plans to appeal his conviction.

On April 7, Hollosy admitted to acting alone in the assault of Parker Adams; punching the D.C. man for trying to sneak on the singer’s tour bus and jump in a picture with him.

"I don't think that there's any doubt Chris Brown is not guilty," said Mark Geragos, Brown’s attorney, via Billboard. He’s hopeful the trial will only last two days.

If Hollosy is not granted immunity from the prosecutors, his testimony in Brown’s trial could greatly alter the outcome of his appeal. Geragos believes Hollosy’s testimony is imperative to winning the case, saying prosecutors have a “duty to fairly treat a defendant and to extend immunity in certain situations."

Although a final decision for Hollosy’s immunity has yet to be granted, prosecutors believe it could take over a year to put into action if they wait until his appeal is over.
