Bishop Nehru
The teenage MC derived his name from a few different sources. Born Markel Scott, the New York rapper named himself after Tupac Shakur's character in the film Juice, Bishop. And as for the surname of Nehru? It's the last name of an Indian prime minister who worked closely with Gandhi.

UPDATE: We finally have a release date for NehruvianDOOM. The Bishop Nehru, MF Doom collaboration is being released on Sept. 23.

Nehru made the announcement through his Twitter.

Seventeen-year old New York rapper Bishop Nehru is already becoming a mainstay on the underground scene thanks to co-signs from heavyweights like Nas and Kendrick Lamar. Last summer, Nehru announced that he would be teaming up with MF Doom for a project entitled, NehruvianDOOM. Originally slated to be an EP, the collaboration is now being stretched to a full album.

While waiting for an official release date, the teenager took to Twitter to announce that he is releasing a solo EP.

More news on the project coming soon.—Peter Walsh
