2 Chainz has just been charged with felony drug possession stemming from his arrest at LAX 10 months ago. The artist formerly known as Tity Boi got caught slippin’ last June when he was arrested at LAX for what was first reported as pot possession. According to official charging docs, the Atlanta-based MC was actually carrying codeine and was hit with felony drug possession yesterday, a crime punishable by up to three years in prison.
This is not the first time Chainz has found himself in trouble due to negligence at the airport. In May of 2012, he was grabbed by the authorities at New York’s LaGuardia Airport when they mistook his four-finger ring for brass knuckles. In February of 2013, Chainz was arrested for weed possession in Maryland. Those charges were later dropped.
The Grammy-nominated rapper will be arraigned next week. Hold your head.—Peter Walsh
