Young Thug’s label situation is still unknown.
Back in 2013, Thug signed to Gucci Mane’s 1017 Brick Squad, which is operated by Asylum/Atlantic imprint. Lately though, the “Stoner” rapper has been stating that he is unsigned and looking for a new home.
In January, Thug announced to sign with Future’s Freebandz label. However, the information turned out to be false when Gucci ordered websites to take down the story. A month later, he told Complex that he signed to Cash Money, but a rep for Birdman refuted that claim by saying no paperwork has been completed.
Now, Billboard claims Young Thug is still signed to 1017 Bricksquad/Atlantic. Confirmed by a representative of Atlantic, they tell the magazine, “We are extremely excited about Young Thug but we do not comment on artist contracts.”
Until we get confirmation from Gucci Mane or Birdman on his status, it just goes to show you that Young Thug is the hottest commodity in the rap game right now.
