Mike Williams was the first big sports star to sign with a rap mogul. Back in 1999 the Former Heisman Trophy winning running back signed with Master P's No Limit Sports and signed one of the worst rookie contracts ever. This was before the rookie wage scale was establish in 2012 where rookies got monster contracts. No Limit Sports were ripped for getting Williams so little guaranteed money and an extremely heavy on incentives contract. However, Williams is not made over the contract but insists that it was his idea. "My contract was a great contract. I wanted to earn my money," says Williams. "It's a misconception that P came up with the terms…It was my idea."

Williams also commented on former Texas A&M wide receiver Mike Evans for signing to Cash Money Sports, saying it was a good decision. Williams says "Cash Money has changed the way the hip hop business has been done and they can do the same for athletes."
