Lauryn Hill’s Rep Addresses Recent Tax Rumors

It was reported last week that Lauryn Hill was in trouble with the IRS. Hill supposedly owed $867,000 in debt. Five months ago Hill completed her three-month sentence at Danbury Federal Prison for tax evasion. Ms. Hill was convicted for failing to pay about $1 million in federal taxes between 2005-2007 and entered prison in July 2013. Ms. Hill's publicist sent in a statement on behalf of Lauryn Hill stating that Hill is taking care of all her legal issues accordingly. Read the statement below.

"So the gist is this:  Contrary to media gossip there are no changes in Ms. Hill's legal status. Ms. Hill has finished her sentence, has been fulfilling her agreement with the IRS, and is taking care of all outstanding matters in regards to this situation. She is not in jeopardy of any further charges. The press is reporting on paperwork that had recently been filed, and has now become public record."
