Elton John Wants To Make Hip-Hop Records

Elton John is trying to figure out how to incorporate more hip-hop into his music. Elton's most recent album The Diving Board isn't anything close to a hip-hop album but he's interested in trying to make hip-hop records. "I'd love to," says Elton John to Rolling Stone.  "I just don't know how to do it. I do love electronica. So, for me, I'd have to work with someone who knows about it, like a Pharrell or a Kanye, who I respect tremendously."

Elton elaborates on how he likes to challenges himself musically when he's working on projects outside his own. "I like to do things outside of the Elton John genre," said John. "Doing other things is a challenge and a learning experience...You never can knock anybody else's type of music until you try it. I could never do a rap record because I wouldn't know where to start. You can learn so much from working with somebody that does."
