One thing you might not be aware about in hip-hop is there are several rappers that have produced children that have become blue-chip recruits in college football. Diddy, Snoop Dogg and the late Nate Dogg have all had sons that are elite high school athletes that have been offered athletic scholarships to play football at elite college programs across the country.

Today, Nate Dogg’s son Naijiel Hale who ranks as one of the top prep cornerbacks in the country, is a high school football star who just earned himself a full-scholarship to the University of Washington.

XXL: Diddy's son Justin Combs made headlines in 2011 when he was offered a scholarship to play football at UCLA. Combs' recruitment led to criticism and controversy for the young cornerback who some thought did not deserve a scholarship. Meanwhile, Combs' status as the rich son of one of the world's most famous rappers led some to allege that he should not accept the money given to him because of his family's wealth.

Meanwhile, Combs was redshirted his first year at UCLA  and thus far in 2013, Combs only saw action in UCLA's season opener this year against Nevada where he recorded two tackles in the midst of 58-20 victory for the Bruins. However, he still has three more years of eligibility at UCLA to get on the field.

Cordell Broadus

XXL: Cordell Broadus, the son of Snoop Dogg, is one of the top recruits at wide receiver in the country. While he is only a junior in high school, ESPN has him ranked as the sixth highest WR recruit in his class. Broadus appears to have breakout speed and quality hands that have made him a top target for schools such as USC, Notre Dame, California and LSU.

Naijel Hale

Position: Cornerback

ESPN Position Ranking:  31

XXL: As the son of late hip-hop crooner Nate Dogg, Naijel Hale is looking to make a huge impact on the gridiron for the Arizona Wildcats next season. Hale is currently a senior at Saint John Bosco High School in Belliflower, California. He was recently named an Army All-American marking him as one of the country's top high school players.
