Chief Keef has officially quit drinking lean. In an interview with Billboard, the Chiraq native called his last two mixtapes "mistakes" and blames his cough syrup addiction as the reasoning.

In his own words, "My last two mixtapes were mistakes," he acknowledges. "I was on promethazine, all drugged out. I was tweaking. I don't sip the lean no more though."

In addition, according to his rehab center's director, the rapper is making good progress. The head of facilities complimented Keef's character, "His recovery is moving in a very positive direction. I think he's ready to move forward. He's a very kind young man." The GBE rapper has been in an Orange Country rehabilitation center ever since a judge sentenced him for a mandated three-month stay, and has refused visitation from any friends and family, including his two year old daughter, in order to keep focused on bettering himself.

Luckily for fans, the "Love Sosa" emcee has been allowed to leave the facilities in order to hit the studio to work on his upcoming album, Bang 3. Though not much details have been revealed in regards to the project, the LP is scheduled to drop March 3rd and is rumored to have a Kanye West feature.

Chief Keef plans to release his sophomore effort's lead single, "Fuck Rehab" soon and is due back in court 2/28 to find out if he could head back home to Chicago.
