50 Cent announced yesterday (Feb. 20) that he has signed an exclusive worldwide distribution and services agreement with Caroline/Capitol/UMG, making him an independent artist after a successful 12-year run with Shady Records/Aftermath and Interscope. He will own the rights to his forthcoming album Animal Ambition due out on June 3rd. An album which he is fully confident that it will sell and put up great numbers which he states during an interview with Forbes. “It’s freedom to invest in your own ideas,” says 50 “If ever I had a horse that I was betting on at the track, I’d like to be the horse. Let it be me, goddammit, because I’m going to run as hard as I can.”

On the ability to make his own schedule 50 is more than happy to do that. “It’s having the ability to do that versus, ‘It’s out of the question,’” 50 says. “Now those options have opened up.”
