It's been a minute since we've heard from Yasiin Bey, but the artist formerly known as Mos Def released a major impromptu announcement earlier today. It turns out the Brooklyn-based MC has taken his talents to Africa to curate a new creative clan called A County Called Earth. In a powerful poem, he revealed the collective will help him launch the inaugural episode for a series of live stream events which is apart of his The Time Is Always Now campaign.

The events which will present all new music aired live from Africa. The event was inspired to pay homage to Muhammad Ali, and will take place on the iconic boxer's birthday: January 17th. The Time Is Always Now will start Friday at 5:30 PM (EST.)
