A new musical, inspired by the work of Tupac Shakur, will have its Broadway premiere at the Palace Theater on May 26. The show is not a musical biography about the West coast rapper, but an original tale about “friendship, family, revenge, change and hope” as poverty stricken, inner-city residents struggle in the game of life.

Musical backdrops are said to include tracks like "Me Against the World," "California Love" and "Keep Ya Head Up," just to name a few.

The production's proper opening night is scheduled for June 19.
