Rappin’ 4-Tay Accuses Drake Of “Copying” His Lyrics

tay_rappin

Yikes.

Rappin’ 4-Tay, who made his debut on Life Is…Too Short (1988), expressed his distaste for Drake’s verse on YG’s “Who Do You Love,” via a tweet he sent out Monday (Dec. 30).

The old school MC is claiming that Aubrey Graham borrowed bits and pieces from his classic 1994 “Playaz Club” single.

On “Playaz Club,” 4-Tay opens up with the following lyrics:

“I got a ho named reel-to-reel / She got a buddy named SP 12, now you know the deal / We gets freaky in the studio late night / That’s why the beats that you hear are coming real tight.”

On YG’s “Who Do You Love,” Drizzy poetics is as follows:

“I got a shorty named Texas Sin / She got a buddy named Young JB and now you know the deal / We turnt up in the studio late night / That’s why the songs that you hear comin’ real tight.”

Listen to both tunes below, weigh in with thoughts after the break.

This is the most attention Rappin 4 Tay has ever gotten in years. He should be grateful .

    • Suede Tap

lmao this is exactly wat I said. I had an argument with a few people on 4tays managers page lol. no ones bumpin 4tays music in 2014. drake just gave 4tay some light. 4tay should just shut the fuck up n be grateful

      • BigDane187

How did he give 4tay light when he didn’t shout him out and nobody knows that was originally 4 Tays bars? Usually when people take other peoples rhymes they include their name somehow.

        • NativeNewYorker

If you a hip hop head you should know the history. Player’s Club is a classic.

          • JOE MULLINS

        • Peso

          that’s paying homage

  • drake sucks

Drake does this all the time. He doesn’t have a flow of his own so he takes others’ and slightly changes the lyrics. Some call it “paying homage,” I call it “being a shitty rapper.”

  • Ari Simone

Damn! 4-Tay look at it as a compliment it’s obvious he liked your music.

  • HipHopHead999

Drake constantly bites other artists, uses their names and lyrics for his benefit. Look at Wu-Tang Forever. Biggest joke on the planet. I hope the Remix never comes out.

  • D D

He did pay homage by saying it in the first place… you washed up perm having ass nigga!

    • curtis
