Yesterday the news broke that Mac Miller and his longtime independent record label Rostrum Records had parted ways amicably after their initial contract had run its course. Today, Mac, while on his way to New Zealand to perform at the traveling Big Day Out festival, released an exclusive statement to XXL saying he’s ready to move on after the split.

“The past few years have been incredible for me and I am grateful for the opportunities I have had during my time with Rostrum,” Mac said in the statement. “I’m excited about what lies ahead for 2014. I’m ready to get back in the studio and can’t wait to share new music with my fans.”

That new music could be as many as four releases in the next calendar year, with a followup to his 2013 album Watching Movies With The Sound Off in the works, as well as a long-rumored collaborative album with Pharrell, to be titled Pink Slime, and two other unannounced projects. Last year, he dropped a mixtape, Delusional Thomas, and a live album, Live From Space, in addition to his WMWTSO.

What’s next, label-wise, from Mac is still up in the air. Rostrum still boasts the likes of Wiz Khalifa, Boaz, Vali and Leon Thomas on their roster. Mac is touring Australia on Big Day Out, and will, presumably, be focusing on raising his new dog Ralph as well.
