Both Drake and Kanye West had a similarly successful 2013, so its no surprise that two of hip-hop’s most influential stars were among the top searched people on Google for the year. As each rapper released a critically acclaimed solo album, sold-out arenas on their own nationwide tours, and delivered memorable verses on feature appearances; one could rightfully say all the searching in 2013 was well deserved.

Starting from the bottom, Yeezy was the 10th most popular searched celebrity in the US  alongside American pop-culture sensations Katy Perry, Selena Gomez, Taylor Swift, Rihanna, and his fiancé Kim Kardashian.

Drizzy’s dominant 2013 served him well, as the Toronto-native songwriter extraordinaire was second on the list, coming up short to twerkaholic Miley Cyrus, who was controversially on her “Worst Behavior” all year according to the general public's consensus.

All in all, Google's recent trend analytics raises more speculation on who is currently the more culturally relevant and influential rapper in hip-hop culture. Join in our Kanye West Vs. Drake debate here.
