Notorious B.I.G.'s Death

On March 9, 1997, Notorious B.I.G. was leaving a music industry party when he was fatally gunned down. He was riding in the front passenger seat of a Chevrolet Suburban when another vehicle pulled up beside his and opened fire. Wallace was shot four times. He was then taken to Cedars-Sinai Medical Center, where he arrived in full cardiac arrest and was pronounced dead shortly after 1 a.m.. 15 years later, his autopsy report revealed that at the time of his death, he had no drugs or alcohol in his system.

"I'll Be Missing You" is a hit Grammy Award-winning single recorded by Puff Daddy, Faith Evans and 112, in memory of fellow fallen Bad Boy Records artist The Notorious B.I.G. The tribute was performed at 1997 MTV Video Music Awards and won Best R&B Video.

Ma$e Leaving Bad Boy To Retire

On April 1999, top-selling Bad Boy artist Ma$e revealed during an interview with Funkmaster Flex on New York's Hot 97 that he was retiring from rap to become a born-again Christian, claiming he found God. He would move to Atlanta to enroll at Clark Atlanta University to pursue a bachelor's degree in education.

Making The Band Series

When Making The Band moved to MTV in 2002 the network ordered a new iteration of Making the Band that featured P Diddy doing a search for hip-hop talent. Making The Band lasted several seasons and discovered Da Band, Danity Kane and Day 26, plus racking in millions on albums sales and television revenue.

Death Row vs Bad Boy

The West Coast/East Coast tension was sky high. Finger pointing and disgruntled banter fumed the war between the two sides. The kings of the West Coast was undoubtable Death Row Records, and the Kings of the East Coast was Bad Boy. Things exploded on August in 1995 at The Source Awards. Soon after the two juggernauts went at each other necks, thus resulting in the lost of two hip-hop legends, Tupac and Notorious B.I.G.

Shyne Nightclub Shooting

On Dec. 27, 1999, Shyne, Diddy and his then-girlfriend Jennifer Lopez, were involved in a shooting at a Manhattan club which left three people injured. Shyne was charged with and convicted of assault, gun possession, and reckless endangerment. He would serve almost nine years in prison in 2009 and was soon deportated to Belize.
