T.I. has weighed in on the Trinidad Jame$ vs. New York debacle, and he didn't take his fellow Atlanta rapper's side. After Jame$ said while on stage in Brooklyn that Atlanta runs New York hip-hop, many New York rappers— MysonneMainoAction BronsonSmoke DZAPapooseN.O.R.E.Hell Rell and even Hopsin—responded, and not in the most positive way. Yesterday Waka Flocka Flame backed up Jame$, saying that The South runs all of music, but today the King of the South distanced himself from Jame$' comments.

"Trinidad is authorized to speak on Trinidad,” T.I. told ThisIs50.com. "And this is not a derogatory statement towards Trinidad, but he can’t speak for me... I don’t think it’s adequate that he speak for the entire population of Atlanta. I just don’t think that—with all due respect—I don’t think he’s come that far and walked that walk enough yet to where that will be accepted without ridicule.”

Tip has supported Trinidad in the past, hopping on his star-studded "All Gold Everything" remix alongside Jeezy and 2 Chainz. During the interview, he also shouts out Maino, who took particular exception to Trinidad's comments, and who showed up to the event where T.I. was being interviewed.
