Moe Pope And Rain Bring Godzilla To Boston In “Lift Off” Video

Moe Pope and Rain are coming off their second straight Boston Music Award for the city’s Hip-Hop Artist of the Year, and they just dropped the visual for “Lift Off” off their recent album Let The Right Ones In. Directed and animated by Matthew Watkins, the video follows Bearstronaut’s Nate Marsden walking through Allston, taking the T and lounging outside the Boston Public Library surrounded by various monsters, aliens and ghouls. Godzilla makes multiple cameos. It’s an entertaining jaunt through the city to say the least.

The Beantown duo also dropped an unreleased track off Let The Right Ones In, called “What You Need Part 2,” featuring vocals from Tea Leigh, which can be streamed below.

I’m sorry but this video is really lame, it’s poorly done. When it comes to animation videos, you really have to go ALL OUT for it to be cool. This is like a freshman film school animation project…i like the song though.
