The L.O.X.'s newly released EP, Trinity was a pleasant surprise to fans who have been patiently waiting for the return of the Yonkers trio. Kiss, Sheek and Ghost stopped by Hot 97 this morning and chopped it up with Ebro and Cipha Sounds about what brought on the new project, and how the success of the EP could help expedite the release of trio's first LP in over a decade. About the timing of the project, Jadakiss said, "It felt right," citing Beyonce's surprise album as a bit of inspiration to put Trinity EP for sale on iTunes. "In this business, timing is everything. The gut feeling is important. And taking chances is always great. It’s like a gamble," he added.

According to the group, the success of the unannounced EP has things moving in a positive direction with the label and we could receive a full body of work sooner than later. "Hopefully top of the year," said Sheek. "If this didn’t push the buttons, what’s going to do it?"

Jadakiss also confirmed they have upcoming label meetings planned to discuss the new album, while Styles assured they would wade through the industry muck to give the loyal fans what they want. "The lack of our album is due to politics, but we’ll get around the politics and you will get a body of music," said P. "[Trinity] was like saying, ‘Hey we here, and screw the politics, now deal with us.' It all kind of worked. Now everything is just flowing right."

The L.O.X. havn't released a group album since 2000's We Are The Streets. Check out the entire interview, where the crew also talks the new New York hip-hop scene and whose to blame for the decline of New York rap on New York radio, below.
