Birdman called into DJ Whoo Kid’s on Shade 45 to discuss the affairs of his Cash Money empire.

Stunna and Whoo covered a variety of topics during their phone conversation, ranging from Cash Money’s holiday giveaways for the community, to the emergence of Nicki Minaj and Drake, to the challenges of keeping his label profitable. One thing that he continues to stress is family over everything, which he argues helps build foundations and relationships.

Here are few gems that stood out to us. Be sure to listen to the whole interview below.

On rumors if he’s skating now:
No, I can’t do it. I can’t do it. That’s my son’s world, that they world. I’m little too cool for the skating. I ain’t got into that shit. I think it’s super cool for them to do it. We got skate parks in different states, but me skating? Nah, I’m too gangster, I can’t rock with it. But I watch it.

On his relationship with Drake:
Drake was a fan before a friend. He already was a Cash Money millionaire. When opportunity came, maybe we put the most on the table. That was my thinking because I just thought that this was a very talented young man. We saw a future with him so it was about him being comfortable. Cause really, Drake made the decision at the end of the day. This is where he wanted to be. The money, it was there from the start, but it was his decision. Drake’s my little brother, I love him to death and he’s family-oriented.

On if he is signing Justin Bieber:
Nah, Justin Bieber is just a friend. He’s family. Justin Bieber is signed to Def Jam and I don’t believe in touching nothing that ain’t mine. I want someone to give me the same respect—don’t touch nothing that’s mine. I still want what I want. But Justin Bieber is definitely a friend of a family. Me, Drake, Wayne. We rock with the little homie, so he a part of us in heart.
