Last night, Trinidad Jame$ was invited to perform at Converse Rubber Tracks alongside RATKING. Shortly after performing his verse on “Work (Remix),” the ATL rapper went on rant, speaking about his new album and stating it would come out next year.

The biggest piece of news came from his defense of Kendrick Lamar releasing quality music. That segued into the Def Jam signee claiming New York’s rap scene has fallen off and the only artists running it are from Atlanta. Here’s Trinidad’s own take on the incident after the show on his Instagram account:

"I said a lot tonight in NY and people are prolly gonna take the negative and run with it but my main purpose in life only is to take care of my mama and keep my shoe game on "30 million" . Other than that if I can inspire a young person to be the best person they wanna be along the way....then cool. Nothing else matters. #CrazyDeacon #BlackBatman."

The controversial statements have also caused a number of New York rappers to respond on Twitter.
