Snoop Dogg's classic debut Doggystyle turns a dub today, and over the past twenty years the album has influenced everybody from Game to Kendrick Lamar. The rap OG recently stopped by MTV and chopped it up about the impact of his first solo offering which has sold over 4 million copies to date and featured the timeless hits "Gin and Juice," "Murder Was The Case," "Doggy Dog World" and "Who Am I (What's My Name)?." "Back then [the album] meant a lot because it was being able to stand on my own two feet and put out a project for the first and to actually be heard and seen for who I am individually," said Snoop. "Now what it means, it's an accomplishment. Looking back at it, it was very well put together, it was standards, it showed me the way to do it, the only way to do it."

The Doggfather also revealed he's never listened to the album front to back. "I don't believe I've ever listened to the whole album and I'm being honest with you," said the rap veteran adding that's not unusual for him. "I ain't never listen to Doggystyle top to bottom. I may have listened to songs, but I've never listened to any of my albums."
