Today, Nov 19., marks the 29th birthday of California rapper Tyga!

Born Michael Stevenson, Tyga is best known for his two smash singles, "Rack City," which peaked at No. 7 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart in 2011, and "Taste," which peaked at No. 8 on the Billboard Hot 100 in August of this year. "Taste" features a verse from Offset of the Migos, and is Tyga's first track to break the Top 40 in about three years.

To date, the Compton, CA. MC has released six studio albums in his career. Tyga's first album on a major label, Careless World: Rise of the Last King, was released by Young Money in the early part of 2012 followed by Hotel California, which dropped in April of 2013. In 2015, the slick-tongued MC dropped The Gold Album: The 18th Dynasty and notably chose to stream it exclusively on Spotify. In 2016, T-Raww announced a major career move when Kanye West confirmed that he was one of the newest signees to G.O.O.D. Music, but both of his albums following that announcement, 2017's Bitch I'm the Shit 2 and 2018's Kyoto, were released through the Last Kings Music imprint.

Tyga's name was in the spotlight for things outside of music when he was dating Kylie Jenner for a while. They ended up parting ways in April of 2017, and in the wake of their relationship, he said being in the Kardashian spotlight made him reevaluate how he approaches his music.

Happy Birthday, Tyga!
