Today is the 41st birthday of one of Brooklyn's finest, rapper Fabolous.

Since his debut in 2001 with platinum-selling smash Ghetto Fabolous, the rapper born John David Jackson has been a mainstay of mainstream hip-hop, releasing numerous hit singles including "Can't Deny It," "Breathe," "Make Me Better" and "Throw It in the Bag." His longevity in Hip-Hop can be attributed Fab's ability to appeal to both older demographics and younger demographics alike. He's considered a top-notch lyricist with an aptitude for solid hooks, crossover appeal and high fashion.

Fabolous characteristically sticks to his New York roots and has been known to recycle classic 1990s beats for new millennium heat. His 2015 release, Friday Night Freestylesborrowed beats from Mobb Deep’s “Quiet Storm,” Puff Daddy’s “Been Around the World” and Nas’ “Black Girl Lost.”

In June of 2017, the Bed-Stuy MC was presented with a key to his home city of Brooklyn, NY and was inducted into the borough's Celebrity Path for his contributions to the community.

In 2018, Loso has maintained his relevancy on the mic through projects like Friday on Elm Street, his acclaimed collaborative album with Jadakiss, and "Ohh Yeah," a melodic summer banger alongside Ty Dolla $ign. He also recently threw down some heat with a standout verse among some of the game's heaviest spitters on Royce 5'9"'s posse cut, "Summer On Lock," as well as showing off his knack for R&B remixes with a verse over Ella Mai's "Boo'd Up."

Happy Birthday, Fabolous!
