Eminem’s Childhood Home Demolished

Eminem’s childhood home, which was featured on the covers of The Marshall Mathers LP and its sequel, is no more.

Last week, the state of Michigan deemed it structurally unsafe due to damage caused by a recent fire. As a result, a wrecking crew knocked it down. Deborah Mathers, Eminem’s mom, purchased the home in 1987 for $19,900. It was foreclosed in 2001 and taken over by the Michigan Land Bank, which still owns the property.

Yo it sucks something from a classic album that is iconic in music got destroyed, but in all honesty no one should be too deeply disturbed about it since Eminem has the money (and than some) to have bought it and fixed it up so it’s not an unsafe home. He had no interest in doing so and is fine so Stans shouldn’t get all butthurt it got destroyed either. Just my two cents.
