Eminem Is First Since The Beatles To Have Four Singles On Hot 100

Not only is Eminem projected to have the 2nd highest first week sales of the year, but he currently has four songs in the top 20 of the Hot 100 which hasn’t been done since The Beatles reigned the charts in 1964. As Em’s 8th studio album just hit the shelves earlier this week, one can only wonder what records he’ll conquer next.

With Eminem’s Rihanna assisted “The Monster” rolling in at the number three spot,”Berzerk,” “Survival” and “Rap God” have staked claimed to spots 15, 16, and 17. As “The Monster” was the leading factor in Eminem’s accomplishment, the song follows behind 2010′s number one single, “The Way You Lie” crafted by Eminem again featuring Rihanna.

Back in 1964, The Beatles held not 4 but 6 spots on Bililboard’s Hot 100. For two straight weeks “She Loves You,” “Can’t Buy Me Love,” “Please Please Me,” “Twist and Shout,” “I Want to Hold Your Hand,” and “I Saw Her Standing There”; all held consecutive spots on the chart.

    so The Beatles still rule.

It’s highly unlikely that any other artist will, as they did in the US in the 2000′s, outsell all other artists in a decade 30 years after their split. That’s only one of the ways they just don’t cease when it comes to smashing the rules.
I still think somebody’s gotta TRY though and Eminem has been rockin’ it.

Em and The Beatles are generally pretty tight. Em was No.1 selling US artist to Beatles’ No.2 for the 2000′s but Beatles ’1′ was the top album for that decade. In all, The Beatles had 14 singles in the Top 100 during April 1964 a numerical feat matched when they had 14 albums in the Billboard 200 in late 2009. Similarly they contest for most number one albums with The Beatles on 8 to Em’s 7 although Paul McCartney’s total over his entire career puts him way ahead with 26 Number One albums.

Pretty amused to see the brand new pic floating around of Paul and Em at this year’s Grammys. That’s quite a lot of records between two people
