ASAP Ferg was trashed, so was the rest of the Mob. I still love rocky. People are gonna be bias with there favorite artists. few stood out, Slaughterhouse delivered so did Kendrick, RITTZ did his thing so did Jon Connor. Kevin Hart was hilarious loved that whole comedy skit, Nick cannon made me laugh brought it back to the wildin out days. can’t forget Action Bronson on that cypher.

This year though I believe everyone is gonna say kendrick not gonna disagree he puts in mad work. Congrats homie. I think Royce was best though.

I’m sick of people winning that are pop rap artists y’all need to get lyrical and choose some real hip hop beats fuck the industry, you need to stand up for true hip hop. Step up your game, real artists don’t get recognized these days because of the industries push for this radio rap. Let the artist be the artist he is and don’t force them to sound a certain way

    • Kyle Stoflet

      * not saying that Kendrick is pop in this he does whats needed for hip hop and he puts out jams for the radio, well balanced.

      • Mike Van Orden

Kendrick’s significance is being overstated. He’s probably right there for best in the game right now, but the fans act like he’s in some other galaxy from everyone else. There were clearly people who I thought put it together better then Kendrick. There were times where KL was on point and killin’ it, but it was too long and there were times where he was just showin off with too many words in a small space and it wasn’t even really making sense.

        • Kyle Stoflet

He did go a bit long on his bars but he was packing the intensity that RITTZ and the other hungry artists that stepped up in the cyphers tonight. Kendrick did kill tonights cypher and he is killing the game in the industry. He is very smart with his words and actions. He is pissing people off and he is getting better because he has that hunger, he is gonna deliver every time we see him. I Love that about him.

I’m already gonna declare him a legend in my book. In the words of trinadad james “Don’t believe me just watch” haha

Kendrick does deserve props man thats all i’m getting at, I wish he wasn’t getting the votes of all the people that don’t know all the other lyrical killers tho. Don’t sleep on RITTZ man he has had tremendous growth working with Yelawolf and Tech N9ne he is gonna be killer.

          • Mike Van Orden

Rittz was indeed one of the best of the night. Kendrick was there and there were moments of pure brilliance, I will admit. But i thought he got a little disoriented later on. I don’t know what it is on cyphers, but rappers sometimes seem to get ahead or behind on the beat or rapping it too fast. Fast is fine if it’s working, but sometimes I feel them gettin a little lost. I’m not saying Kendrick was totally wack at any moment, I just didn’t feel the last part of his verse as much as the first. And going twice as long as his TDE compadre’s seemed kind of weird to me.

  • FuckTheWorld

Without question KENDRICK but Royce got busy too.

  • Clondyke Classic

Crooked I murk’d everybody on the whole show with his verse rns

  • wolfffffy

    Where’s Andy Milonakis’s.

  • Mike Van Orden

It’s clear this is voted on more as a popularity contest then who actually spit the best. Kendrick was good, but just cause you spit longer then everyone else doesn’t mean you were better then everyone else. To me it feels like most these dudes trying to cram the most amount of words in the smallest number of bars, showmanship and coherency kind of goes out the window sometimes. I thought Rittz and Jay Rock were 2 of the best, a few others in there.

  • Kyle Stoflet

I would love to see a cypher with Em, Royce, Yela, Kendrick, Black Thought.

  • 7chainz

Crooked had the best verse. it gets better and better after every replay and the entire verse is genius. listen carefully.

  • Rae HDvisionary Wiley

Man I agree with you @Mike..I felt like Jay Rock was eatin tht bitch but keepin it a hip hop aspect..Its like in his voice you know tht rap shit saving his life ya kno? I does the shyt myself so I know where his comin from. Reminds me of Xzibit bakk in the gap but Better. Honestly I think T.D.E. had the best choreographed cypher.THEY HAD SHOOK ONES FOR A BEAT!!One thing I didn’t like bout the whole thang was that the other cyphers didn’t get an instrumental tht Everybody should destroy, especially the hungry ones because thts their chance..Evrybdy was on point tho except Travis $ he was mad as hell spittin on tht beat whining shootin a slug @DjPremiere sayin the beat suck…Naw Nigga you SUCK and his shyt getting exposed on national TV, but Im with you on Rittz abt bein a beast..I liked when he switched it up. Wax had some bars, Star Life Breezy came to life mid-verse, im not gon stretch the rest..Overall it was a good awards. Very Entertaining..

  • Tnelson1134

Rittz shit on everybody.. kendrick and crooked I snapped too though

    • Mike Van Orden

Crooked I got mean. I don’t know what it is but when Slaughterhouse gets mean, it’s believable to me. Some of these other dudes, even Kendrick, the ego and bragadaccio feels like mere posturing. I know it’s part of the art form, but some people just aren’t as believable when they talk shit. Kendrick is a master lyricist, no questioning that. But at the end of the day he just seems like a nice dude to me. Slaughterhouse actually seem mean to me, that’s all I’m sayin.

  • Mike Van Orden

At the end of the day, you also gotta be entertaining. The cyphers should seem fun and not taken too seriously I feel like. So sometimes I feel like all the posturing and ego is actually a bit silly. That’s why, seriously, the Kevin Hart cypher was pretty sick. Some of those dudes were actually spittin! A$ap knew what was up making it entertaining as well.

  • Dave Kuhn

Wax came easy but he can spit so much harder than that. Kind of wish he did cuz he could put a lot of them dudes under it. I talked to him before it and he said he wanted to go with something chill and different than just trying to cram a bunch of rhymes in. I respect that, but I think his verse was SO chill that it didn’t make the impact it should have. Go search “Wax Spits Fury Yet Again” and let it roll about halfway through. It’s all REAL freestyle (no pre-written stuff like most people do) and he could EASILY be right on it with Lamar or anyone else there.

    • Dave Kuhn

I want to state that I never talked to Wax as I stated here. I tried deleting this comment but it won’t delete.

  • Dave Kuhn

Also, I still think Black Thought spit one of the best ever.

  • HB Hargett

Rittz had the BEST verse by FAR!!

  • Dave Kuhn

Wanna take a second to apologize for misrepresenting one of the artists in this cypher. I never talked to Wax like I said I had and never should have posted sh!t as if I was speaking for him.

  • whoa

    Crooked I took it.
