Pusha T Aiming For Top Five Debut For New Album

After a series of delays, the debut solo album from Pusha T finally dropped October 8. Now, Billboard is projecting that My Name Is My Name will start at No. 4 on the Billboard 200 albums chart, moving around 70,000 copies in its first week.

Push’s debut album with The Clipse alongside brother No Malice, Lord Willin,’ hit No. 4 in 2002, his highest previous charting position.

Of course, if Pusha does sell 70k on the nose, that would cause some issues in the XXL offices, as both Photo Director Josh Clutter and Assistant News Editor Miranda Johnson both predicted that number; presumably they’d have to fight to the death for chart-predicting supremacy. But keep an eye on this—other XXL editors may be found in your neighborhood record stores buying up a couple dozen copies trying to shift the numbers. Stay tuned.

Miley Cyrus’ Bangerz album, by the way, is predicted to come in at No. 1 with 250,000 sold, well above the projected No. 2, Panic! at the Disco, with 90k.
