A dozen or so disgruntled rappers weren't the only ones to respond to Kendrick Lamar's "Control" verse. Retired, 13-time NBA champion coach, Phil Jackson also had a retort for K. Dot who name checked the former HC with the line "If Phil Jackson came back still no coaching me. I'm uncoachable, unsocialble." A short time later Phil jokingly tweeted Lamar with the jab, "It's okay to be cocky and sure, but we all need somebody to lean on. Let's just call it mentoring."

The Zen Master recently sat down for a chat on The Seth Davis Show and explained his now-famous tweet. "That's the wonderful world of Twitter," said Phil, "you can communicate with people who are completely out of your range of influence and social grouping." Jackson said he was cooling in Montana when he heard of the name drop and was convinced he should respond by his Twitter followers. "Many of the people that tweet back and forth to me were saying you got to come back at Lamar."
