Mariah Carey’s Nas Collaboration Will Be Dope

Mariah Carey is working on her new album, the followup to her 2009 effort, Memoirs Of An Imperfect Angel (though she also recorded a Christmas album in 2010), and she's hit up Nas, Hit-Boy and Mike WiLL Made It to help collaborate. But it's Nas—who last joined Carey on the remix to "Thank God I Found You" in 2000—whose work she's really excited about.

"We have yet to finish our collaboration but it's one of people's favorite records," she said to MTV, adding, "Even though it's nowhere near finished, and even though it's not at that [right] place yet." But that didn't stop manager Jermaine Dupri from jumping in and adding his two cents: "It's gonna be dope, I could tell you that," he said.

She also gave some details on the sound of the project—titled The Art Of Letting Go—after mentioning she's been working with Hit-Boy and Mike WiLL. "I feel like the sound is varied in terms of texture," she said. "There's an intensity that I think people are going to feel."
