Legendary Cash Money producer Mannie Fresh is going through a renaissance period right now, with a slew of new projects in the works and the potential return of the Hot Boys on the horizon. "It's the rebirth of Mannie Fresh," he said. "It's been busy for me, that's all I can say is thank the fans, thank God, the people who believe in me." He spoke with Vibe recently while in New Orleans about some of the production work he's got on the table, including working with Wiz Khalifa and Mos Def.

"Working on Wiz's album right now, still working on Mos album, Mos Def," he said in the interview, above. "It's comin, dude, Mos is shooting movies right now, I gotta kinda work with what he's doing. When his schedule loosens up a little we'll get back at it. We're there, we're just tweaking the songs, so it's not like I'm talking about something that's not done. The songs are done."

Kanye West is another potential collaborator; West reportedly has over 30 Fresh beats in his possession, waiting to be rolled out. Not that there's a timetable or anything. "He's welcome to use whatever," Mannie said. "Whenever they need me, that's services."

And with the big waves made by the pseudo-Hot Boys reunion in 2 Chainz's recent "Used 2" video—not to mention Mannie dropping in on Juvenile's set at the BET Hip-Hop Awards—rumors have been flying about more music coming from the group. "It's a possibility," he said. "I can tell you this—we're a lot further than where we were, and now it's one of them situations where it's just doin' the paperwork. We are on negotiation terms, speaking and everything like that, so it's about the paperwork."
