On Friday, Lauryn Hill was released from prison after serving a three-month stint for tax evasion. L-Boogie took the time today to pen a hand-written letter to her fans for showing their support and writing letters to her during her incarceration.

“Know that many of your letters not only touched me, but continued to confirm for me what I already knew but needed to hear again: that sincere expression has a serious purpose,” wrote Ms. Hill in an entry on her tumblr. “If one of you had been touched, picked up, encouraged, or prevented from succumbing from some measure of social or spiritual decline, then it was worth it.”

Hill is scheduled to be confined to house arrest in her home for her next three-months. It was reported earlier this week by TMZ that she has requested a temporary furlough of her sentence she can go on tour from November 15 to December 31. The request was reportedly accepted by the judge on contingent of her itinerary being approved by her parole officer.
