Dead Prez

In his June 2013 interview with The New York Times, Kanye compared himself to revolutionary underground hip-hop group Dead Prez. Kanye appeared with Dead Prez along with Dave Chappelle, Common and Talib Kweli on the cover of XXL in 2004.

“You know, I was able to slip past everything with a pink polo, but I am Dead Prez.”

the man is talented I’ll give him that but his ego is way too inflated and he is constantly contradicting everything he says and then just reaching for the stars in comparisons he admits he can’t play piano but compares himself to full fledged musicians who would laugh at him. I love his production work and his albums except for 808s and Yeezus but he needs to get his head out of the clouds and come back to earth which is probably never ever going to happen again sadly.

I am one of those musicians, I dont even rap and be winning freestyle battles because I’m a freelance composer and songwriter; rhyming is second nature for people like myself. no need for gimmicks and “filler words” like hoes, clothes, bank rolls. Hip Hop seriously needs to grow up, I am from the hood (but have move on up in this world – i live in White American suburbia now) but dang, can we get a new soundtrack?

Identity crisis? nah. Substance abuse problem? Yes. this dude need to spend like 15 months in a drug rehab center and try to understand why pookie keep calling his name. Drugs R baddddd. um – k??? and so is Yezzys music um – k??? hahahah seriously though, humble yourself and go get help, I want the old Kanye back, the one who didn’t sell his soul to hollywood but would sell hollywood to his heart, smh. look at what a waste of talent you’ve become. sigh……
